Cathedral

Manolia (sometimes romanized as “Manoria”) Cathedral is a dungeon in 600 AD. It is found in the forest to the west of Guardia Castle. It unlocks two characters: the first by defeating the four Naga-ettes in the chapel and the second by defeating Yakra in the back. Once Yakra is finished, the game will automatically bring you back to Guardia Castle, where you can go up the tower to the right of the throne room and into the Queen's bedroom, where the next character will appear.

Requirements: None in standard flags. The Cathedral may be completed as soon as Jets of Time begins (this is not the case in Lost Worlds).

Recommendations: Being able to clear enemies with full-screen damage is a plus, but not required. This is the first dungeon in the game and it is highly recommended to at least visit the front room before doing anything else (other than shopping and checks that don't involve battles) to pick up a third party member.

Strategy

When attacked by party members standing far away, Yakra will counter with an earthquake that hits the whole party, so try to attack from nearby when the chance arises. At low HP, Yakra will start using a needle spin that is nastier than his previous attacks. Overall, with Yakra's low HP and stats, most parties with halfway-decent Techs can defeat him within a couple of turns.
