Strategy

Flea can inflict Blind, Poison, Chaos, and Sleep. These attacks are accompanied by minor-to-moderate damage. When Flea is below half his maximum HP, he will begin to counterattack with a technique called “The Stare.” This inflicts heavy physical damage on all of your party members.

The Stare's damage is calculated a bit strangely: it deals physical damage, but characters block the damage based on their magic defense stat. However, because the damage is still considered to be physical, it is the Shield item or Lucca's Protect spell (as opposed to Barrier/Magus's Magic Wall) which will reduce damage further.

That said, while getting hit by The Stare is dependent on RNG (it's possible for it to never happen), it has the potential to cause a Game Over very quickly. There is one way to avoid it completely: leave at least one party member KO'd. The counterattack will not trigger under this condition.

Flea Plus operates just like his previous counterpart (see above), but is vulnerable to all status-based attacks except the Graedus gun, providing another opportunity for offense.
